More and more consumers are concerned about where their food actually comes from. Starbucks, the largest coffee shop chain in the world, wants to make it possible to trace the origin of its products via Blockchain, a solution developed in collaboration with Microsoft. Codes are placed on the coffee packets purchased, which the customer scans and then receives information about their origin. What exactly this information will look like is not yet known. In any case, it is clear that a Blockchain is used to offer this service. The trend to follow one’s supply chain via block chain could quickly become established and be used by several companies. We are curious to see which other companies will use the new technology.
