Today’s Internet has become an oligopoly of several tech companies such as Facebook, Google and others. Recently, when Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram were down for several hours, the dependency on these services became clear. Nevertheless, the number of users is increasing from year to year.

Fractal calls this an injustice. The Berlin-based blockchain start-up has created a platform with which they want to break the Internet oligopoly and thus give users back control over their data. Users should be able to determine precisely what data they are making available with the so-called “zero knowledge proofs. With the in-house ID Wallet, they can coordinate the provision of their data. The start-up launches its Mainnet on 19 October.
