Latest development in the cryptocurrency market with the announcement of Membrane Finance, Europe’s first and only EU-regulated stablecoin and payment network with full backing. The EUROe, the digital money, represents the euro 1:1 and is backed by the deposit of fiat currency.

A distinctive feature of the EUROe is that it has been granted an e-money institution licence by FIN-FSA, unlike other stablecoins pegged to the euro. This means that it meets the highest regulatory standards, providing a safe and regulated tool for trading and transferring money.

Juha Viitala, CEO and co-founder of Membrane Finance, said, “The launch of a truly regulated EUR-based stablecoin is great news for us as well as for the broader European cryptocurrency market and community.”

From Thursday 2 February, the EUROe can be implemented in smart contracts and transacted on Ethereum. This is a big step for the cryptocurrency industry in Europe as it introduces the first regulated stablecoin to the market
