In cooperation with Austria’s largest energy supplier, Bosch has developed a block-chain refrigerator. The companies rely on Ethereum for this. The device was introduced a year ago. The manufacturers want to use the project to increase general interest in DLT and help users choose a sustainable energy source. Thanks to Blockchain, users have the option to choose the energy source themselves. The consumer can choose between solar and wind energy. Every kilowatt hour consumed can be traced back to its origin to maximize transparency. In addition, it is possible to control the entire refrigerator via a mobile device. The temperature of the refrigerator and freezer, correct use, energy consumption and CO2 emissions can also be checked. Currently the refrigerator is still in a test phase. We are curious when the Blockchain refrigerator will be available for us consumers.
