One of the reasons that are repeatedly cited when it comes to the question of the advantages of DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) over other systems is decentralisation. There is no central person responsible for the network, but all participants have equal rights. The database is distributed so that each participant always has a synchronised, current version of the data.
A decentralised transaction system is therefore resistant to censorship and less susceptible to malfunctions and network failures.
