Bitcoin is finding more and more institutional investors, who see Bitcoin as a long-term investment with low taxes. Since Bitcoin transactions are classified as private disposal transactions, they are subject to the individual income tax rate and, unlike shares, are not subject to 25 percent withholding tax. Furthermore, there is the possibility of a complete exemption from taxation if the Bitcoins are kept for more than one year or if the profit is less than 600 euros.
