The Ministry of Health and Presentation (MoHAP) of the United Arab Emirates, together with other government agencies, has developed a block-chain-based platform for data storage. The platform focuses on the storage and preservation of medical data. The efficiency of intelligent health services is to be increased by using the new storage solution. By using the new key technology, the needs of the customers should be brought into focus. Users not only expect various functions from a medical platform, but a special level of security is also particularly important to them. For this reason, Dr. Lubna al Shaali, Director of the Department of Public Health Policy, states that the new platform is particularly secure. Due to the data storage, the Blockchain solution could help to secure a decentralized and encrypted database with high security protection. This would improve data validity and reliability in the long term.

The novel solution could also be an answer to the increasing relevance of AI solutions. The ministry’s plans envisage the implementation of artificial intelligence in health services.

For Dr. Lubna Al Shaali, the new solution also provides an unknown level of security. Once stored, data could not be changed or manipulated. The consistency of data and information is enhanced by the key technology. Market participants benefit from greater transparency and trust in the healthcare sector.
If one looks at the different government agencies in the United Arab Emirates, the massive use of blockchain technology becomes clearly visible. Around 80 percent of the authorities now use the technology. In addition, the Ministry of Economic Development in Dubai has hinted at the switch to a blockchain-based company registration platform. The procedure is intended to simplify business transactions in Dubai.
