How does digitisation really change the world of work? There is great concern that advanced technologies will require fewer workers. However, while many manual activities can be replaced by robots, this does not necessarily mean layoffs. Because the machines must still be operated and controlled. Computers are more and more able to take over complex human activities, which is why we can also do without heavy work. The time needed for processes is also reduced enormously. The advantage: Whereas in the past, we also had to work on weekends, we now have the comfortable situation of working from Monday to Friday in 8-hour days. Whether the increasing digitalisation is a curse or a blessing is debatable. Nevertheless, change should not be seen as a negative, but as a new possibility.
