Blockchain technology continues to make its way into society. Breitling is now securing proof of identity for a new watch collection. The technology is ideally suited to this task, as it is capable of providing and, above all, guaranteeing proof of origin of all kinds. What is noted on the Blockchain is difficult to delete or change. For this reason, the Swiss watch manufacturer Breitling is now issuing blockchain-based digital proofs of origin for its new limited Top-Time collection. Breitling wants to take the company’s own warranty program to a new level. Every watch owner* will receive a digital passport with their watch. If the digital warranty is scanned, an encrypted wallet can be downloaded on which the digital passport is stored. All details of the watch can be read on it, including the serial number and activation date of the warranty.
