On behalf of the company SpaceX, founded by the Tesla boss, two blockchain nodes will be sent into space in June. The ISS already has its own hardware (the “spacechain”) in operation and this is now being expanded with network elements from Ethereum and blockchain. The relocation of the blockchain nodes should make the technology less susceptible to terrestrial influences. In addition, the elements ensure that the system can continue to be maintained even if the infrastructure on earth is no longer efficient.
