The FDP faction in the German Bundestag has called on the government to take concrete steps towards the development of a public block-chain system for educational certificates. A motion published by the FDP on 7 November describes in a roadmap how such a system could be implemented quickly.
The basic principle of the block chain is based on the fact that the transaction history is distributed to different systems in a transparent and unchangeable way, thus verifying and securing data. At the same time, there is no central storage, which significantly increases resistance to manipulation, for example of final grades.
