Polkadot addresses the current challenges of blockchains: scalability, consensus, and interoperability. Due to the fact that Polkadot is a hybrid blockchain, it provides a solution for scalability and also enables consensus on the validity of the network so that different chains can easily communicate with each other. Its design also aims to allow blockchains to interoperate even if they are hosted in a fully decentralized manner. Polkadot thus enables blockchains to communicate with each other. Each blockchain in the Polkadot network is hosted on a different blockchain. This means that there is no centralization in the network.
