Did you know that electricity suppliers charge far too much for electricity? Switching to another supplier can be helpful here. The aim is to reduce the consumer’s costs and thus ensure fair payment. By the end of next week, electricity suppliers have to indicate price adjustments for next year. First suppliers have announced a price increase of 5.8% on average. For example, a consumer pays about 1613 euros for 5,000 kWh of electricity from the basic supplier, while the same amount costs 19% less for alternative supply.
Experts therefore recommend a constant comparison of the supplier, especially if one is still in the basic supply. Especially the fear of switching leads to a loyal customer, but the consumer is at no time without electricity. The Federal Government and the Länder have ensured this, and a supply is always guaranteed. On 30.10. this year, electricity suppliers paid 37.65 euros per megawatt hour of electricity on the Leipzig electricity exchange. An almost identical level as in the first half of 2018, at 37.57 euros. Nevertheless, many suppliers continue to raise electricity prices. In 2021, grid usage fees will rise slightly. Consumers can really save money if they compare and switch electricity.
