The adoption of cryptocurrencies continues to grow globally. In 2023, there are around 420 million crypto users worldwide, which corresponds to a share of 4.2% of the total population. The number of crypto holders is particularly high in Asia, with a total of 260 million users. The US has the highest absolute value with 44 million crypto users, which corresponds to a penetration of 13%. Looking at the percentage of the total population, the United Arab Emirates leads with a quarter of its population as crypto owners.
