Opera has announced a crypto browser, which can be downloaded for free as a public beta right now. The browser has been completely designed for Web3 fans. This starts with the homescreen, which hosts cryptocurrency news and links to major NFT and crypto exchanges.

One of the features is the integrated crypto wallet, which always displays the current price of one’s assets and facilitates access to blockchains such as Bitcoin, Celo, Ethereum and Nervos. Bitcoin & Co. can be sent directly via the wallet. The wallet can be easily exchanged for another wallet via a browser plugin. Furthermore, a secured clipboard prevents the user’s own wallet address from being intercepted by malware if the user copies or pastes it.

Opera’s crypto browser also supports decentralized Web3 apps, such as GameFi. The goal of this software is to make it as easy as possible to use cryptocurrencies and the Web3 apps such as Decentralized Finance (DeFi) or Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs). Opera emphasizes that the much more energy-efficient Ethereum Layer 2 standard will be implemented as soon as possible.
