Cardano, a cryptocurrency platform, received a major update in September 2021, making it possible to perform smart contract functions. Despite the price drop in 2022, Cardano’s network development has gone ahead. After the Vasil hard fork in September, Plutis Scripts very quickly reached 4,000 smart contracts. Cardano was able to provide programmability and a development platform for DeFi to the developer community barely after the Alonso hard fork was completed.
According to Cardano, the team has been working hard lately to increase scripting capacity, the Plutus Debugger MVP, and to finish spreading the implementation of full Abbage support in Plutus tools before their release. In November, Input Output Global (IOG) announced the launch of the world’s first DeFi protocol, Marlowe Playground. This protocol is designed to allow developers to create new DeFi applications on the Cardano blockchain.
