Since last week there has been a new cryptocurrency that speaks out against global warming and is actively committed to climate protection. The Co2Bit project, as the new currency is called, aims to mitigate the negative effects of climate change by providing the participating countries with appropriate funds. With this strategy, over 100 million trees in the Brazilian rainforest have already been acquired and protected. In order to guarantee environmental protection, some cooperation agreements have already been made with authorities in order to implement the measures. It remains to be seen whether the cryptocurrency will establish itself here as a more efficient alternative to emission certificates or whether it is just empty promises.
